Why I Recommend Choosing Custom Wedding Invites

For the Bride

March 10, 2020

As a wedding photographer, one of my favorite things to photograph on wedding day is the wedding stationery and paper details. They literally tell the story of the day. I love to see the font choices and how the color and designs of each paper item compliment each other and are woven into the overall wedding design and aesthetic.

Your wedding invitation is the first tangible piece of your wedding that is created. It’s the first impression that your guests have of your day. Therefore, choosing and designing your wedding stationery is not a task that should be taken lightly! This little piece of paper represents the most special day of your life.

When deciding whether to pick out a standard design, or create something custom, I always recommend custom. Your wedding invites should be as unique as you and your wedding day. Basic Invite is a place you can go to for not only beautiful and custom invitation design, but also personalized place cards and free wedding websites that compliment your invites.

A couple things I love about Basic Invite are the custom samples and nearly unlimited color options and the ability to order an entire set that includes everything from save the dates, wedding invitations, enclosure cards, wedding menus, wedding programs, and even matching thank you cards!

You can order a printed sample of your invitation so you can see the card’s paper quality and how it will be printed – so important. You also have the option to truly customize your wedding paper goods with the flexibility to change the color of each element on the card and design every detail exactly the way you want it, unheard of for an online stationery company.

Believe it or not, wedding invitations can be one of the biggest hassles of the planning process. From collecting hundreds of addresses, to stuffing envelopes and actually getting the invites mailed out, it can be a lot to handle. But Basic Invite does an amazing job of simplifying the process for you with their free address collection service and seal & send wedding invitations.

With the address collection service, all you have to do is share a link via social media or email with your guests and you have an instant address book. From there, basic invite uses the address book to address and print the envelopes. How awesome is that?! This is a huge time saver.

The seal & send wedding invitations are an all-in-one wedding invitation with a tear-off RSVP postcard included, offered in over 30 designs and, like their other  products, they are also customizable. With the seal & send invites, guest’s addresses are printed on the front of each invitation so no envelope is necessary! All you have to do is share a link, collect guest addresses, and upload them onto your design. Once you receive your order all you have to do is add postage, fold your invites, and secure them with a sticker – simplification at it’s finest.

Definitely don’t underestimate the value of your wedding invitation sets and paper details. I often see this step of the wedding planning process get overlooked or put at the bottom of the priority list, but these few different pieces of paper tell the story of your unique wedding day and they should absolutely reflect that.

Xx,

Alexa
